Enniskillen Plein air weekend 27th – 29th September 2024 The plein air weekend is based in the island town of Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, N.Ireland The town boasts a great mixture of historical buildings, views of the Fermanagh Lakes and street scenes to suit every taste. The event is open to all artists over 18 years. This is a fun weekend welcoming all skill levels and all painting/ drawing mediums. Come and join us and meet friends old and new. Workshops. Cost per workshop £20 There will be a morning workshop each day from 10.00 am -12.30pm. Friday 27th September Sorrel Wills Chairperson Pastel Society of Ireland, USWA, Pastel painting. The demonstration will look particularly at composition, establishing basic shapes and tones in the landscape. Jeff will demonstrate his method from initial drawing to finished painting explaining the importance of subject, composition and focal point. For further information follow Jeff on Facebook and Instagram Sunday 29th September Paul Walls ARUA, Oil Painting. Paul will demonstrate his fascination with heavily impasted, textured work. For further information about Paul visit his website www.pwalls.com FORMAT FOR EACH DAY Friday morning, 27th September, participants will meet in Enniskillen Castle Courtyard between 9.30-10,00am for Registration and Welcome from Catherine McKeever, President USWA and Noelle McAlinden Patron USWA. Those who have booked for Sorrel Wills workshop will meet their tutor. All other participants will go out and paint anywhere in the town. Catherine McKeever will be available to give guidance as to painting spots. They will meet again each evening at 4.00pm in the Castle courtyard to exhibit the day’s work, chat to participants and visitors and sell their artworks. Saturday 28th September, Catherine will be in the Castle Courtyard at 9.30 to welcome participants and answer queries. Those who have booked a workshop with Jeff Monaghan will meet their tutor. All other participants can come to the castle or go straight to their chosen painting spot. All other participants will go to their chosen painting spots. Participants will meet again at 4.00pm in the Castle Courtyard. Sunday 29th September, Catherine will be in the Castle Courtyard at 9.30 to answer queries. Those who have booked a workshop with Paul Walls will meet their tutor. All other participants will go to their chosen painting spots. Everyone will meet at 4.00pm in the Castle Courtyard for a catch-up viewing and selling of paintings before a final farewell until next year. Registration Fee is £25 per person
