Secretary Lesley Ann Sharp with Elaine Spence from SOS BUSNI and Catherine McKeever
We had a wonderful AGM this year. We were at our home from home - The Malone Golf Club, grouping together convivially over tea and scones. What better way to "chew" through the business in hand? Wonderful Artist Helen Condy was awarded a Life Membership. We've had a successful and busy year and all The Councill and Office Bearers were very grateful to receive so much support and appreciation from the other members. There are three new Diploma Holders We were delighted to present our cheque for £755 for money raised at the coffee morning to SOS BUS NI. The AGM is always a special day, as that is when we assemble our selection panel to consider applicants, who are hoping to join our membership. We are thrilled to welcome eight new members to USWA.
USWA coffee morning with chosen charity SOS BUS NI
President Catherine McKeever welcoming members to our Annual Coffee Morning - Delicious scones too!!
Jo Young and Elaine Spence spoke with love, enthusiasm and passion, representing charity SOS BUS NI
Our Patron Noelle McAllindon also joined us and she gave us her signature support and encouragement for USWA.
Our coffee morning is an annual chance for members to meet during the course of the year in an informal way and an opportunity to support a charity. This year, we chose SOS BUS NI. They are an amazing organisation which provides crisis intervention and welfare support for vulnerable people in Belfast. They work in partnership with the emergency services, statutory services, other charities, and businesses, schools, universities and community groups to meet the serious social problems that volunteers encounter, making Belfast a safer place for everyone. A number of our members are already volunteers. We are absolutely delighted that our coffee morning raised over £700 for SOS BUS NI!! A great morning indeed!! A great thank you to all who attended this year and for your generosity. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.
