The 66th Annual Exhibition is all over, but there was one final job to be done. This was to count the votes made by the many visitors for their favourite painting of the exhibition. After a nail biting afternoon of counting and recounting the votes, the winner of this year's Max McCabe Trophy was Jenny Hamilton for her painting Hawthornden Hydrangea. There was just one vote separating the top three contenders. In second place with St Georges Market was Dawn Crothers . In third place with The Judge, Framed and Hung in Gaol. was Janice Lightowler. Just two votes away was Lisa Puhlhofer with The Hungry Caterpillar and one vote separated her from Trish Rogers with Acrylic pour 1. Many congratulations to Jenny and to everyone who came so close to winning. It just shows the strength of talent we have in USWA and how much the public enjoyed a wide selection of such wonderful artworks . Jenny will be presented with her award at the 2024 AGM in March.
