USWA Challenge in 2025

Last year this time, the president of USWA Catherine McKeever launched a challenge among the council members of USWA, which was everyone could commit to 30 minutes of sketching/painting everyday in 30 days. And we did with amazing results. This year the challenge will be expanded to all the members. If anyone would like to paint/sketch for 20 minutes everyday in 20 days, she could join the group of "20x20". All the works will be displayed here! The starting date is the 6th Jan 2025.

The Post Challenge of 20x20

It has been a fantastic challenge we all went through. All the members who participated the challenge got an amazing achievement. 20 days are very short but it leaves us for a pleasant memory how we did together, painting and drawing, discussing and encouraging each other. Certainly, it makes us more thoughtful and cheerful towards arts.

Kate:
I have loved seeing everyone’s work here and watching the progress , different styles, comments etc. I’m so glad I signed up for it as it has got me painting after the usual Christmas aftermath slump ! And to be honest a while before that , so thankYOU everyone for such an enjoyable few weeks. There are some seriously great artists in the USWA !!! 🎨🎨🎨🎨🎨

Oh goodness I just realised that we would have been showing examples of our 20 day challenge today at the coffee ☕ morning. Thank you all for your enthusiasm dedication and great work. I m blown away by everyone s dedication. .Well done I have really enjoyed being part of this and if anyone wants to continue or has an idea for another challenge just shout.

...I have just been scrolling back through and the work is absolutely stunning. I am so proud of you all. The progress is so fabulous and a great endorsement of 20 mins a day sketch or paint. I have had a few unexpected things which have left me a bit overwhelmed but I managed to work on three 10x10cm simultaneously using the same palette. Hopefully this will spring board me into a better February 😉

This group and you ladies have been such an encouragement and so inspiring on a month that’s so dark and seems so long!! Have loved seeing all the messages popping up through the day. All so different and talented. It would be great if we could continue in some way.

Barbara:
It is difficult to stick to the 20 mins, but we are painting! I have done a lot and feel I haven’t wasted my time. It’s a good feeling, I would love to keep it up but know myself too well!
Agree with everyone. I have got a great deal out of this challenge- ideas, new media, confidence and encouragement. Thank you so much for thinking it up and hope it continues in some form.

I love the challenge, particularly all the discussions, everyone's show cases and painting experience, method etc. I have to say I have learned lots and enjoy myself so much! Thanks to the opportunity of 20x20, the best project ever👍👏💞
