Catherine McKeever’s passion for art began when she studied fine art under T. P. Flanaghan. In the early days she painted in oils and went on to teach the subject for 10 years before leaving the profession to raise a family and build the family business. In later life Catherine returned to her love of art firstly in watercolour before been introduced to soft pastels by Greg Moore. Falling in love with the medium of pastel she went on to study with renowned American Pastel Artists including Liz Haywood Sullivan, Elizabeth Mowry and Jeanne Rosier Smith. Today Catherine is a member of the Ulster Society of Women Artists, on the Committee of the Pastel Society of Ireland, a Member of the Pastel Guild of Europe and an International Member of the Pastel Society of the West Coast USA. Her work is exhibited regularly through these organisations. Having recently returned from the International Association of Pastel Societies Convention in New Mexico, which saw 700 pastel artists from around the world come together for workshops, demonstrations and the exchange of ideas, Catherine is excited to bring her new ideas to fruition. To date her work has sold in the UK, Ireland as well as Internationally.
