Harriet Ennis NDD ATD USWA trained as a painter and lithographer at Belfast College of Art. She lectured in Art and Design in Stranmillis University College. She has exhibited widely, with several one man shows and shared exhibitions. Queen’s University and Ulster Television have examples of her work in their collections. Her work is characterised by a strong feeling for composition and the play of light on surfaces. She works quickly from direct observation of the subject, and her subject matter is taken from life. There is a strong sense of place and a human presence. Recently she has written and illustrated three children’s books based on the rescue of her dog from an animal sanctuary.
