Jacque McNeill B.Des Jacque graduated from University of Ulster Belfast with a Bachelor of Design degree and then began teaching at North Regional College. She is a member of the Ulster Watercolour Society. Living and working in the Ballymena area she was delighted to be asked to put on solo exhibitions in the Braid Arts Centre. Jacque is well known by many in the Agricultural community for her amazing animal paintings and illustrations. Her love of animals is the inspiration for these paintings and with a menagerie at home she is never short of subjects! They include hens, ducks, sheep and potbelly pigs. Jacque’s work is illustrative in style usually taking the animal out of its background working in watercolour mainly, the unpredictability of the watercolour makes for free flowing pieces, she lays down washes of water or pale base colour and then drops in the watercolour allowing it to flow and mix. Jacque is keen to use her artistic skills to help others in the area of mental health. This has resulted in her setting up a creative project called Tracing Rainbows for mental wellbeing and is also chairperson of Crafty Wellness. www.jacquemcneill.com
